I cordially invite you to join the 400+ guardians from the Eastern Shore and Mobile in discovering the beauty and joy of a weekly hour with Jesus. Many of our guardians have expressed their gratitude for the gift of adoration which has blessed them in drawing closer to the Faith by slowing down to listen to and rest in the Lord.
During your weekly hour you can read scripture, write in a prayer journal, pray the rosary, read spiritual books or simply sit and rest knowing you are in the Presence of the Lord. Our sign-in room (with spiritual books to browse) is open to all who visit the Blessed Sacrament chapel, either as a drop-in adorer, substitute adorer or committed weekly guardian. Your signing in, even for a two- minute visit, has allowed us to know that we have over 900 visitors a week, keeping our Lord company.
Within the first five years Christ the King has had a perpetual adoration chapel, we have seen vocations grow, confession hours increase and whole families renewed. Truly, when we give time to Jesus, He returns His Love, never being outdone in generosity.
For more information, please call me at (251) 626-7427. I look forward to hearing from you!

Adoration: To adore is to be "mouth to mouth with God, properly aligned to the divine source, breathing in God's life."
Eucharist Adoration is an ancient, prayerful devotion believed to be in existence as early as the 4th century with St. Basil. It is the coming in prayer before the Real Presence of God found in the exposed Blessed Sacrament. The Blessed Sacrament is exposed in a "monstrance" (gold stand) so that the Host is clearly visible to all who come to pray. Lit candles around the monstrance remind us that Jesus is the Light of the World.
Jesus wished to remain physically with us until the end of time. At Mass, the gifts of bread and wine are consecrated on the altar by the words of Our Lord in the hands of the priest. The bread and wine cease to exist in essence, and in their place, Jesus gives us His body, blood, soul and divinity! This is Eucharist! The Eucharist isn't simply a symbol or sign of Christ. Jesus is truly present the Eucharist under the appearance of bread and wine. Outside of Mass, we come to Adoration to be with Jesus in the Eucharist (Blessed Sacrament), to pray to Him, to listen to Him, to rest in Him, and to keep Him company.
